Move On Housing Limited
Supported Accommodation & Pathways to Independent Living
We provide safe, supported accommodation for people who cannot yet live independently. Through structured support, risk management, and partnership working, we help residents stabilise their lives and move forward with confidence.
Who are Move on Housing and what can I expect?
Who we are
Move On Housing provides high‑quality supported accommodation for adults who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of a safe and stable place to rebuild their lives.
We offer accommodation within shared houses, so typically we will integrate like minded people together to help our residents thrive towards independence. You will have your own space for your independence, with shared communal facilities and common spaces.
Our provision is designated Supported Exempt Accommodation (SEA) specifically to cater for people that are not yet ready for work and otherwise aren’t yet able live independently without support. Your rent and service charges should in the main be covered through benefits that we will help you to claim. Their are costs that you will have to contribute from your own personal benefits or other sources of funding.
Charter of Rights
In 2021 we worked with Spring Housing as commissioned by Birmingham City Council (BCC) to become an inaugural certified member of Birmingham SEA Charter of Rights, which aims to ensure people in supported accommodation enjoy basic rights and expectations on how safe they are in their homes, are able to live in decent conditions and what levels of support, privacy and decency they should expect.
Quality Standards
In 2022 we voluntarily applied for accreditation for BCCs approved quality standards assessment, Supported Exempt Accommodation Quality Assurance Standards (SEAQAS) managed and assessed via Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) – https://www.bvsc.org/quality-standards
Following assessment processes we were proud to be awarded Bronze level compliance with the standards and adopted ‘Preferred Provider’ status as listed within BCC approved list of providers https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20006/housing/2333/supported_exempt_accommodation/4
